Open Textbook panel discussion: 5th October

Please join us for a virtual panel discussion – Open Textbooks in Australia: updated, localised, inclusive – chaired by Professor Helen Partridge, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Teaching and Learning at Deakin University.
Dr Sarah Lambert (Chief Investigator) will provide a brief summary of the outcomes and recommendations of her recent Open Textbooks National scoping study. This will be followed by a panel discussion of the subsequent opportunities and implications. The expert panellists are:
Ms Fiona Salisbury: University Librarian at La Trobe University and board-member of the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL). Fiona is also leading the Enabling a Modern Curriculum project for CAUL, which has an OER textbook pilot component.
Professor Kevin Ashford-Rowe: QUT institutional lead for digital learning. Kevin leads the Digital Learning Portfolio including the Curriculum Design Studios and the Next Gen Learning initiative.
Dr Johanna Funk: lecturer, learning designer and open educational practitioner at the the College of Indigenous Futures, Charles Darwin University. Her recent work critiques, promotes, and evidences Open Educational Practices as a vehicle for critical pedagogical reform and job readiness in a range of open and online educational settings.
